The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) was launched by the National Qualifications Authority in October 2003. The framework is the single nationally and internationally accepted structure, through which all learning achievements may be measured and related to each other in a coherent way.
FETAC has become a unifying force for the sector and since its foundation in 2001 it has been providing quality assuring awards that were previously certified by Fáilte Ireland (formerly CERT), FÁS, Teagasc and the NCVA. FETAC has made over 250,000 awards to date.
To offer FETAC awards the training organisation/school etc. needs to become a FETAC registered Quality Assurance Provider. A provider is a person or one or more centres, offering one or more programmes that lead to a FETAC award(s). The provider will work within a common set of policies and procedures quality assuring those programmes. More information on FETAC and the NFQ can be found here.
EdCert provides a complete FETAC Quality Assurance application service. This includes:
| ► | Development of required policies and procedures | |
| ► | Management of supporting documentation | |
| ► | Training on appropriate inhouse procedures | |
| ► | Aligning courses and training programmes to current FETAC modules | |
